Rationale

Why are we doing this?

If we’re going to have a prom at Opryland in 2026, then we MUST raise at least $6,000 by September 1st.*  Kroger Community Rewards alone can’t get us there**, but we’ve found something that definitely can . . . if we can get at least a couple dozen households on board.

Forgive us for begging, but if you want to keep this prom alive, PLEASE visit this link, click the “Join a Program” button, and install and begin using the mobile app and the browser extension.  We’re even offering a 50% rebate on whatever anyone earns for us, so you’ll actually be saving money on the exact same shopping you already do!

Rebates will be issued via PayPal on a quarterly basis.

*We paid the hotel $20K for this year’s prom.  They have a policy of increasing their revenue earned from the same group by 20% each year regardless of attendance or menu or anything else, and the minimum deposit required to reserve a date is 25%.

SHORT TERM: We must raise at least $6,000 by September 1st.*

LONG TERM: We hope to bring ticket prices back down to $75 for Dinner and $50 for General Admission and keep them there.

*The total amount we must earn increases in proportion to the number of participants who elect to receive a 50% rebate.  If every participant chooses this option, then we obviously need to collect $12,000 if we are to keep $6,000 of it.

If we fail to raise $6,000* by September 1st, we will not be able to host the 2026 prom at Opryland. 

Should this happen, we are undecided on whether we will pursue an alternate venue.

Until September 1st, we will be laser-focused on our goal of returning to Opryland.

*If everyone elects to receive a 50% rebate, then we will actually need to collect $12,000 in order to raise the $6,000 that we must pay the hotel to reserve the 2026 date.

If we get at least 24 families to actively participate for the duration of the next few months, we should have no trouble raising $6,000 by September 1st.  And of course, the more active participants we get, the better our chances.

The average family earns more than $1,000 in a year.  Remember that if you elect to receive a 50% earnings rebate, you’ll get half of that back (via PayPal) and our organization will keep the other half.

FAQ: Account & Payments

The choice of how to pay for any gift card is always yours:

  • Bank Account
    • $0.29 convenience fee on each transaction (flat fee regardless of order size)
  • Debit Card
    • 1% convenience fee on each transaction (based on total value of order)
  • Credit Card
    • 3% fee on each transaction (based on total value of order)

NOTES:

When purchasing one or more gift cards worth a total of $30 or more, paying via bank account is always the most economical option.

The only times when paying via debit card is more economical than paying via bank account are for purchases totaling <$30.

Whenever possible, it is to your advantage to consolidate multiple gift cards into a single purchase paid via bank account.  These gift cards may be for any combination of amounts and from any combination of vendors.

This extra step is no longer required due to additional security steps. Transactions are secure and protected by your unique login and/or biometric login on the mobile app. You’re also automatically logged out after a brief period of inactivity, so your transactions and account information are protected. 

Balances for eGift cards will update when you view the eGift card in your Wallet. For some brands, you may see a note that the balance must be tracked manually.  

To check the balance for these eGift cards, and your physical gift cards, you can visit the brand’s website. The website address or phone number to check balance information is typically provided in the eGift card terms and conditions or on the back of the gift card.  

Go to your “Dashboard” within “Account”.  There, you’ll see your earnings for the last 3 months, 6 months, and year.

FAQ: Gift Cards

What are eGift cards?

Electronic gift cards (eGift cards) can be used for online and in-store purchases.  eGift cards are immediately delivered to your Wallet.

eGift cards can be viewed and redeemed from your Wallet.  Most cards can be scanned at a retailer’s register from your smartphone in the Wallet, but a few will need the gift card number entered manually.  Some brands require a printed copy of the eGift card to redeem.  To print an eGift card, open the eGift card in your Wallet and print.  You may have to do this from the website if you don’t have a printer connected to your mobile app.

There are NO fees deducted from any RaiseRight gift card.

Whatever you paid for the gift card is what you get to spend with it.

No, eGift cards cannot be deleted from your Wallet.  eGift cards at a zero balance can be Archived.  To Archive means that the eGift cards are removed from your active list of “My Cards” in the Wallet.

Go to the Wallet.  Tap “Archive”, then select Filter > Card Type > eGift Card > Brand > Name of Retailer > Show Items.  Once selected, tap “Unarchive”.

RaiseRight offers functionality on their website and on their mobile app to schedule and/or send an eGift card as a gift to someone else via email.  You will find this option on the brand page for each eGift card.

Yes, many brands offer physical gift cards that can be reloaded electronically online.  To add money to a reloadable card, go to the Wallet and choose “Add Card” to add it to your Wallet.  Then, when your balance is running low, select the gift card from your Wallet and choose “Add Money” to keep earning with the same gift card.

Note: You can only add money to reloadable physical gift cards purchased from RaiseRight.

What is a browser extension?

A browser extension is a useful tool that you can add to your internet browser to enhance its abilities.  Browser extensions can improve your online experience and help you do things more efficiently while you’re surfing the internet.  The RaiseRight Earnings Extension will help you earn for your organization by reminding you about earning opportunities for your favorite brands while you shop on their websites.

The RaiseRight Earnings Extension is a browser extension that will notify you if gift card earnings and/or online earnings are available while shopping on your favorite brands’ websites.  When earnings are available, the extension allows you to conveniently activate online earnings in just one click, and quickly purchase a gift card to use at checkout while shopping online.  Think of it as a helpful reminder so you don’t miss out on earnings, helping you reach your fundraising goals faster. 

Online earnings are another way to earn — in addition to gift cards — by shopping online through RaiseRight.  With the RaiseRight Earnings Extension installed on your browser, you’ll be notified whenever online earnings are available while you shop online.  All you have to do is click the “Activate Earnings” button on the extension, and you’ll earn for your organization by completing an eligible purchase on the brand’s website.  For many brands, you can earn extra by activating online earnings and using a gift card from RaiseRight as payment for your purchase.  Learn more >

The RaiseRight Earnings Extension is currently available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers on Windows and MacOS desktop devices, and Safari on iOS mobile devices.

Yes, if you have an iOS mobile device, you can install the RaiseRight Earnings Extension to the Safari browser in your phone.  Learn more >

You’ll want to “pin” the extension to your browser window so that it’s always visible while you shop online, and easier to access.   

To pin the extension in Chrome, click the puzzle piece icon in the upper right-hand corner of your browser window.  Next to the RaiseRight Earnings Extension, simply click the pin icon.  The RaiseRight heart logo should appear at the top of your browser window, next to the puzzle piece. 

To pin the extension in Microsoft Edge, click on the ellipses in the upper right-hand corner of the browser.  Navigate to Extensions.  Next to the RaiseRight Earnings Extension, click on the “Show in toolbar” icon (eye with a slash through it).

With the extension pinned to your browser, it will display as a gray heart icon while inactive.  As you shop online, the heart icon will glow with full color anytime you visit a website that has earning opportunities available.  Simply click the icon to expand the extension and view the available earnings.  Once you have reviewed the available earnings, the icon will remain in full color.
